Here I stand,
Lord of the kingdom from the farthest lands.
I ruled all my people with an iron hand.
Some things I let stand but most things I banned.
I am the man that they used to fear.
I wiped out families and towns,
But never shed a single tear.
Here I stand,
Testimony to Machiavelli’s great mistake.
I dictate their fate but they hate the ground I walk on.
I knew I was despised but never ceased to walk on.
I was a despotic tyrant who only loved himself.
And what did I do with my people’s wealth?
Instead of going out and buying all my people bread,
I scavenged for enough gold and silver to fill my head.
Here I stand,
I proclaim that from hither,
I set all my people free.
As my ancient tan skins begins to wither.
And my condition begins to deteriorate.
I hear the shouts:
Our great king is about to abdicate.
For years, this day they used to anticipate.
I am returning your right to participate.
The rights I’m granting, don’t take for granted.
Here I stand,
I proclaim that my name is no longer royalty.
And I expect nobody to show me loyalty.
They loathe me,
They hate me more cuz they’re the ones that chose me.
I promised them the world to get on that throne.
They protested, contested my right to rule for life.
It’s either you rule mine or I rule your life.
I threw in jail those who dared to question me.
Only the king has the right to question.
And I tortured my people to teach them lessons.
Slowly but surely, all dissent began to lessen.
Here I stand,
The man that ordered the death of a thousand men.
My swords did the work, but I never saw their faces.
I dumped bodies in the river so there would be no traces.
And I am upset, I do regret.
I let power consume me.
I let the devil abuse me.
But to blame others is a great mistake.
I chose my mistakes and they chose my fate.
Here I stand,
But I can’t for long.
I feel real weak like my bones are breaking off.
So long sad world, a leader is taking off.
Carve my name in my gravestone,
Show my body more respect than I showed your own.
I know my people are destined to see great things,
Be great things.
But don’t let mean kings mistreat your things.
I gave you back your wings, now start to sing.
