In September 2017 was invited to the Estonia node of ELIXIR to give a talk about how empirical results about adult learning and learning in general could be utilized to support the development or evaluation of training or education in bioinformatics. In Tartu I gave one one-hour talk (Interdisciplinary_Perspectives_on_Bioinformatics_Training_Lessons_from_Education_Cognitive_Science_and_Biostatistics - annotated power point slides) and a 4-hour workshop on learning goals (https://www.academia.edu/34607065/Learning_goals_teaching_goals_and_assessment_in_bioinformatics_training - annotated power point slides). These events were sponsored by the ELIXIR node and so feature bioinformatics training, but the content is generalizable across training and can also be useful forformal educational settings.
